               DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INITIATIVE

  • The Majlis Ash Shura has implemented the following procedures to put an end
    to domestic violence in our Muslim community:

  • Imams will publicize and state the names of men who assault or abandon their
    wives.

  • Men who assault or abandon their wives will be banned from future marriages.

  • The Majlis will keep permanent records of men who assault or abandon their
    wives, which can and will be checked before marriages.

  • The community will be advised not to have business dealings with men who
    assault or abandon their wives.
